I'm not trying to bust you up or anything, but I'm sure you know that its true, once you have made it through some damage the car feels much more your own. I was driving my newly acquired Z (owned it 3 days) down to a friends workplace for lunch and to show it off. On the way, a dump truck on I-65 dropped a huge rock and as it bounced down the interstate I knew what was coming... BANG. Cracked windshield. Broken heart. I cursed myself up and down for buying a "nice" car (nicest I've ever had in my short time on the planet) and that I should just get out of the Z game altogether because you cant have anything nice without fate or some idiot either taking it from you or destroying it. I hung in there and over time got used to a little damage here and there, no big deal. Its still a Z, still *my* Z. Having a good outlook about it also makes driving it around town a bit nicer, not having to worry about whether its gonna get bruised or scratched. At the grocery store I park wherever I want, screw going all the way to the back... no one puts baby in a corner, LMAO. Good luck with your next body shop, hopefully they'll know what they're doing...
